Senior Apparel Designer

LeMieux has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Apparel Designer looking for a new challenge in a fast-growing global equestrian company.

 

In this role, you will report to into the Head of Design and be responsible for leading the design and development of your own categories whilst overseeing a small team of designers. Your expertise will contribute to the creative vision of the brand, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of functionality, quality and style.

 

Key Responsibilities are as follows:

 

  • Lead the design process for assigned categories, from concept to final production.
  • Work hand in hand with the wider design team to share ideas and ensure that collections are cohesive across categories, as well as with buying, merchandising and tech to ensure products are developed in line with our critical path.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional departments to ensure alignment on product vision and goals.
  • Mentor and guide junior designers, providing feedback and fostering a creative and productive environment, whilst driving innovation into the category.
  • Conduct market research and trend analysis to inform design direction and innovation.
  • Develop and present design concepts, technical specifications, and prototypes.
  • Oversee the execution of design details, ensuring adherence to brand standards and quality requirements.
  • Stay current with industry trends, materials, and technologies related to technical, performance wear.

     

    Suitable applicants will display the following skills/experience:

     

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a related field or equivalent industry experience
  • Experience in apparel design, with a focus on technical and performance wear.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing innovative designs and technical proficiency.
  • Excellent understanding of garment construction, fabrics, and performance technologies.
  • Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration abilities.
  • A team player
  • Equestrian experience would be an advantage but not essential

    LeMieux has an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager looking for a new challenge in a fast-growing global equestrian company.

     

    We have an ambitious vision and are looking to add to our 170-strong HQ team to achieve it. You’ll be working across departments and ultimately, help make LeMieux the most exciting equestrian brand on the planet.

     

    The Project Manager will be responsible for the coordination of multidisciplinary projects aimed at improving our operational efficiency, customer experience and scalability. This role involves interaction with the wider organisation and various departments, as well as with external partners and other key stakeholders.

     

    Key Responsibilities
  • Working closely with senior leadership, gathering requirements and setting the key business objectives as well as the deliverables per project.
  • Managing a wide variety of large and complex projects to meet business objectives, timelines, quality and cost criteria.
  • Championing best practice project management principles.
  • Interfacing and liaising with key stakeholders including various teams, department leaders, customers and suppliers as required based on the assigned projects.
  • Negotiating resource requirements with relevant department leaders to ensure projects meet the timelines, costs, and delivery objectives agreed with the senior leadership team.
  • Arranging and chairing project team and stakeholder meetings as appropriate.
  • Establishing and maintaining stakeholder relationships throughout projects to provide focus and strong, positive perceptions of the outcomes.
  • Managing the day-to-day project resources for each assigned project.
  • Monitoring and safeguarding the commercial viability of assigned projects.
  • Ensuring that projects are delivered to an agreed time, cost and that they meet the agreed business objectives.
  • Project reporting to senior leadership including monthly dashboards, project status reports, quarterly stakeholder meetings and others as determined per project.
  • Maintaining a register of lessons learnt, arranging and chairing review meetings to address them.

     

    Requirements
  • The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering large, complex, transformative business projects across a variety of disciplines.
  • Sound understanding of project management principles and concepts.
  • Proven ability in business change management with strong communication skills.
  • Travel will occasionally be necessary based on project requirements.
  • A background in sporting goods, fashion or any other seasonal consumer goods business would be hugely advantageous.

  • Order Picker Packer

    LeMieux has a number of exciting opportunities for Temporary/Seasonal staff looking to gain some extra hours in the build up to the Festive Season! Join our dynamic Warehouse team on a fixed-term contract as an order Picker/Packer, where you’ll play a key role in ensuring our holiday deliveries go smoothly.

     

    Get ready for an active, hands-on-role that involves, manual stock handling and order processing in a fast-paced, high energy environment. This is your chance to be part of something big this Christmas Season!

     

    Key Responsibilities:
  • Picking and packing orders for both our trade and ecom customers
  • Utilising hand-held scanners for order processing (full training provided)
  • General stores housekeeping to a high standard including cardboard cutting and bailing

     

    Skills/experience required:
  • Physically fit and happy to be on your feet for long periods
  • Hardworking with self-motivated, ‘can do’ attitude
  • Flexibility around hours, shift patterns will be in place with early starts/late finishes available
  • Although Warehouse experience Is preferred, it is not essential
  • Own transport, as the warehouse is not on any public transport routes

    Product Technologist

    LeMieux has an exciting opportunity for a Product Technologist looking for a new challenge in a fast-growing global equestrian company.

     

    Supporting the Design team as a Primary Technical Coordinator, you would manage the fit and technical process of all horse products and accessories from initial sample until delivery handover.

     

    You would be responsible for checking the quality and makeup of the samples across multiple product areas, as well as oversee all aspects of garment fit, testing and wearer trials. You would follow through with overseas factories on comments to be actioned and ensure all products are fit to proceed to full production.

     

    The Role:
  • Assisting in the creation of spec sheets ensuring all technical attributes are correct and well communicated.
  • Leading fit sessions for all relevant products, relaying fit comments and amendments to suppliers and keeping all fit records up to date.
  • Working with Design to create clear technical packs including size specs and any specific construction details ensuring this is well communicated to suppliers.
  • Updating size specs, writing up and recording comments and data.
  • monitoring the sampling process and updating the critical path.
  • Test report creation and approvals.
  • Maintaining physical sample library & storage.
  • Keeping historic logs and accurate updates of samples status
  • Checking of incoming samples for measurement and design discrepancies
  • Assisting in Quality Control, checking production / received stock for sizing & fabric consistency and working with the Returns department, using the data to make sure our product is ever improving.
  • Daily liaison with overseas suppliers ensuring deadlines are met and the critical path stays up to date
  •  

    Suitable applicants will display the following skills and experience:
  • Proven Industry experience in a similar role is essential, preferably in sports/equestrian wear product development.
  • Product/Garment Technologist Qualification or equivalent industry experience.
  • Comprehensive understanding of garment fit, technical construction and make up, and confident in grading and sizing.
  • Knowledge of pattern cutting, construction, and manufacturing techniques
  • Experience working with overseas factories
  • The ability to follow and manage their time according to the critical path
  • CAD skills and experience using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop would be an advantage
  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel
  • A strong communicator with excellent organisation skills
  • Flexible attitude to work, with the ability to adjust to the constantly changing needs of the business
  • Applicant must be able to take initiative in any given role and be willing to assist where necessary, be it a photo shoot or presentation
  • The ability to work alone, on one’s own initiative, as well as within a team and in a fast-paced environment
  • An equestrian background is not essential but would be an advantage, being passionate about product is essential, as is taking an interest in the equestrian world.

    Product Compliance Manager

    The role:

     

    As the Product Compliance Manager, the successful candidate will be required to oversee the compliance and safety of several product areas, predominantly toys and childrenswear but will also include equine and rider categories.

     

    This role is crucial to ensure our products meet regulatory standards, are safe for use by our customers and will comply with UK and international regulations.

     

    The role will have significant cross functional reach, working closely with product development, technical, Ecom, logistics and sales teams as well as manufacturers to ensure compliance with international and national markets including Amazon marketplace.

     

    Key Responsibilities include:

     

    Regulatory Compliance
  • Monitor and interpret relevant regulations and standards for all product areas, with particular attention to toys and childrenswear.
  • Ensure all products comply with applicable safety standards, including but not limited to ASTM, EN71, CPSIA, and REACH.
  • Keep abreast of changes in compliance regulations and update internal policies and stakeholders accordingly.
  • Product Testing & Certification
  • Coordinate product testing with third-party laboratories.
  • Work with the Technologist and supplier to understand the LeMieux testing requirements and action accordingly.
  • Along with the relevant technologist, review test reports and certifications to ensure compliance, with specific attention to labelling review and legal requirements.
  • Maintain a database of compliance documents for all products.
  • Supplier Management
  • Evaluate and approve suppliers based on their ability to meet compliance standards.
  • Conduct regular audits of suppliers to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Work with suppliers to resolve compliance issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Internal Training and Communication
  • Work closely with various functions to inform and deliver training programs for staff on compliance requirements and best practices.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for compliance-related inquiries.
  • Prepare and present compliance reports to senior management.
  • Documentation and Record Keeping
  • Maintain detailed records of compliance documentation, including test reports, conformity certificates, and inspection records.
  • Enable a straightforward export process by liaising with the logistics team to ensure that they have all the relevant documentation in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that all documentation is up-to-date and easily accessible.
  • Providing departments with legal briefs to ensure accurate labelling across product and packaging based on regulation requirements.

  • Proven background in Product Compliance with a thorough understanding of toy and childrenswear regulations
  • Previous experience with international compliance standards and regulations
  • Strong knowledge of product safety standards and regulatory requirements and local/international compliance laws.
